Corn is a very sacred plant to the Navajo along with beans, squash, and tobacco. The Navajo creation story says they were created from an ear of corn and the skin of Changing Woman, their most important deity. With its many seeds, corn is also a symbol of fertility and rebirth.

Turquoise is hydrated copper and aluminium phosphate. To The Navajo, turquoise is viewed as a piece of the sky that has fallen to earth. Spiritually, turquoise is considered a stone of wholeness, promoting a sense of unity of the self and a oneness with all that surrounds us.
