The Red Tail Hawk - key of "G" minor has a soothing, warm, melodic voice. Because it is deeper in tone than the Sparrow Hawk "A" first time players are attracted to this key. Made from domestic, renewable walnut, a hardwood, the flute is sealed with non-toxic oils which give it a clear, bright voice especially on the high notes. The Red Tail Hawk flute is a good accompaniment flute for the Contra Bass "G" flute and the Pocket Flute in the key of "G". Being a very versatile key, it plays well with other instruments and works well with many different styles of music expression - Native style, romantic, blues, jazz, etc... The flute is tuned in the key of "G" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "A#"/"Bb".

High spirits Flutes Include a How to play DVD, Instruction booklet and Fingering charts. The fetish of carving on top of the flutes creates the sound and needs to be in it's proper position for the flute to play at it's optimum (explained further within instruction booklet) High Spirits Flutes are based on the minor pentonic scale when used as a five hole, when the sixth hole under the leather tie is exposed the flute will play the relative major key in both the Diatonic and Chromatic scales. High Spirits softwood flutes such as cedar have a fine balance between warmth and clarity, the hardwoods such as walnut and birch are very durable and have a bright clear voice. Flutes are made from a single piece of wood (uni-body), they are not laminated together. The shorter flutes are very easy to play and learn with, the longer bore flutes have a deeper voice and are recomended for those who have experience with Native Flutes or other wind instruments.
