The Triple Flute is a very versatile instrument but is more challenging to play than the Double Flute.

The left side drone plays the root note of "A", the center flute has the 6-holes and plays the melody and the right side drone has three fingering holes that are covered with leather ties. This gives the option of which note(s) are played as the secondary drone. The flute has three mouthpieces so it can be played single, double or triple. Because these flutes take more breath and breath control they are recommended for experienced flute players. This style is unique and generates good amplitude (volume), the drone sides plays the low and high octaves easily.

The Triple "A" Flute is a good accompaniment flute for the Contra Bass "A" flute and the Pocket Flute in the key of "A".
The flute is tuned in the key of "A" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "C".
This is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.
